The soundtrack for Pokemon Red and Blue is coming to limited edition vinyl. The pressing includes every track from the original Game Boy game, as composed by Junichi Masuda.
Moonshake Records is pressing the classic soundtrack on red and white swirled wax, imitating the look of a pokeball. The album artwork calls back to The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, with a 60s style recreation of the band’s iconic cover.
You can’t purchase the album just yet, though you are able to request notification when it comes in stock. And if you’re interested, you’ll want to do that—Moonshake is only releasing 500 copies. The Pokemon Red and Blue vinyl will cost $50 USD when it goes on sale.
The Pokemon Company has ambitious plans for its 20 year celebration—along with Pokken Tournament releasing on the Wii U in March, the company has announced a Nintendo 3DS bundle shipping with Pokemon Red and Blue pre-installed. The Pokemon Trading Card Game is also getting a new expansion, launching in February.
